4 Things Every Agent Should Be Doing in the Lead-Up to Christmas

With Christmas just around the corner, most agents will be working frantically to finalise the last of their marketing campaigns and doing their best to close as many sales as they can prior to the holiday period kicking off.

While the lead-up to Christmas can be incredibly busy for most agents, it’s also an important time to keep in touch with your clients and reflect on the past 12 months.

Here are four things all agents should be doing in the lead-up to Christmas.

Reaching out to clients

Most agents would have come in contact and worked with hundreds of different people throughout the year. Christmas is a great time of the year to say thanks to some of these people for putting their faith in you as an agent and to those that you’ve worked with in some form over 2022.

You should start by organising Christmas cards and letters for larger clients and the ones that you have a close relationship with. Sending a personalised note or a small gift goes a long way with people and you can be sure if you’ve sold someone’s home over the course of the year, they will be thinking about the role you’ve played in their lives as they reflect over the holidays.

For your smaller clients and other people that you might have met over 2022, consider sending an email just to reach out and wish them well.

Nurture leads

While you’re digging through your database, this is also the perfect time to be checking in and nurturing all those leads that you’ve built up over the year. Not everyone that has made their way into your database will go on to be a client, but it can’t hurt to spread some positive messages and offer your assistance where you can.

During the Christmas period, people all around the country are busy spending time at home and talking about real estate, so it’s a good idea to be at the front of their mind.

Reflect

Real estate is an incredibly busy and all-encompassing job throughout the year, and most agents are so busy with everything that they have on their plate, that many forget to take the time to sit back and reflect.

When you get some time off over Christmas, sit down and look at what you’ve achieved during the year. 2022 has been a tale of two halves for many agents, and it can be easy to forget about either the good or the bad.

Reflect on how you performed and how it compared to your goals. If you didn’t outline any goals, this is the time to make some for 2023. Making a plan for what you want to achieve by this time next year, is the first step in achieving it.

Spread some cheer

Anyone who works in real estate knows that the job is incredibly demanding and a lot of hard work. But it’s still important to bring positivity and good energy with you every single day.

This time of year it’s especially important to help others where you can and spread the cheer. For many, this year hasn’t been an easy one, so the more positive energy you can share, the more it will help other who might need it.
